The Dude
Excellent film.

The Prestige by Jason Heatherly

[last lines] Joel: I can’t see anything that I don’t like about you. Clementine: But you will! But you will. You know, you will think of things. And I’ll get bored with you and feel trapped because that’s what happens with me. Joel: Okay. Clementine: [pauses] Okay.

KSR IRL: Beloved by critics and audiences alike, if you haven’t seen Dee Rees’ PARIAH yet: run, don’t walk. One of our favorite Kickstarter projects of 2011 and a breakout hit at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, PARIAH is one you simply cannot miss!
Check out this awesome New York Times article by Kickstarter project creator Nelson George heralding Writer/Director Dee Rees as part of a new movement of black filmmaking.

PARIAH is important, not simply as a promising directorial debut, but also as the most visible example of the mini-movement of young black filmmakers telling stories that complicate assumptions about what “black film” can be by embracing thorny issues of identity, alienation and sexuality.

+1 for creator-on-creator love!! Click here to watch the trailer and here to find PARIAH at a theater near you.
